Show Departmenf asks for cooperation Springville City sanitation department is advising residents not to use plastc garbage containers con-tainers throughout the cold fall and winter months. Plastic containers con-tainers become very brittle ind break easily when they are exposed ex-posed to the cold. It was pointed point-ed out that Springville City will not be responsible for plastic plas-tic containers placed out with garbage in during this cold season. People using them do so at their own risk, it was pointed out. Don't burn leaves With the fall season here and the new no burning regulations now in effect, people will have more of a problem disposing of these falling leaves and trimmings from shrubs. The city will haul leaves and shrub prunings, small branches etc., provided they are properly bundled. Leaves should be placed in small boxes that can be lifted into trucks. Large boxes are not satisfactory because be-cause of their heavy weight and breakage under this weight. Branches and shrubs must be cut into not more than four foot lengths and tied into bundles before they will be hauled by the garbage department. depart-ment. If other assistance is needed for larger refuse, residents are asked to call the street department depart-ment leaving the caller's name and address. The city will make available a truck and manpower to help dispose of these materials for a fee. Cooperation Co-operation in conforming to these regulations will be appreciated, ap-preciated, city officials stated. |
