Show Dick Wiley Wiley named rural mail carrier for city Dick Wiley, who has worked as a clerk for the past 23 years in the Springville Post Office, has been appointed rural carrier car-rier to serve the outlying areas of Springville and Mapleton. Former carrier, Leon Davies, has resigned to accept other employment. In order to continue to give patrons the best in service, Mr. Wiley asks the cooperation coopera-tion of the people on the rural route by having their box numbers num-bers painted on their box and using these in their address which should include RFD No. 1 Box and Springville, Utah 84663. Just using the address of the city or street address, and particularly Mapleton, Utah, may cause the mail to be returned since Mapleton does not appear in postal directories of the U. S. Mail for Utah. There are 625 families on the rural route and with many names such as Johnsons, Whitings, Whit-ings, Larsons, Hatfields, etc., with no box address, it is almost al-most impossible to determine where to place mail the carrier pointed out. Name and number of the box should appear in one inch high letters on the box on the side which the mail carrier approaches. Arthur Harmer, who resides in Mapleton will continue as the sub carrier, a position he has held for many years. Any person not knowing their own box number is asked to call the post office 489-4561, 489-4561, or Mr. Wiley, 489-6447, and the number will be given so that it might be placed on the mail box. Cooperation of all is needed to bring effective mail delivery on the route, Mr. Wiley stated. |
