Show Music program given Home Culture Club The Home Culture Club met Friday, at the home of Mrs. Harrison Conover. President, Mrs. Jane Strong took charge of the meeting and conducted the business. The club collect was read by Mrs. Max Alle-man, Alle-man, accompanied by Mrs. Maurice Bird. Mr. Peter Danzig, Dan-zig, a former Springville citizen citi-zen and presently attending the BYU presented several vocal numbers and accompanied himself him-self on the guitar. He toM about his past experiences including in-cluding having sung professionally profes-sionally for St. John's Cathed-eral Cathed-eral Choir in New York and later joining the Tabernacle Choir. The speaker for the afternoon after-noon was Dr. James A. Mason, also a former Springville citizen, citi-zen, who is presently with the Fine Arts Department at the BYU. He spoke on "Music Today." To-day." He explained the emotional emo-tional effects that music has on us and played several tunes on the stereo as examples. Mrs. Maurice Bird played several numbers on the piano. Luncheon was served to 17 members and three guests. The guests were Mrs. Dave Cox of Salt Lake City, Miss Effie Kel-sey, Kel-sey, and Mrs. Rhoda Hales. |
