Show ARCADIA Mrs. Slsie Bird Funeral Held For Drowning Victim Funeral services were cou-' cou-' ducted Thursday at 2 p. m. in the Arcadia Ward Chapel for ' Edwin Georpe Evans 16-months old son of Ardon B. and Ruth Lusty Evans, who drowned in I an irrigation canal near the family home on July 8. Bishop Garn Gilbert conducted the following fol-lowing services: Prayer, Thomas ' M. Gilbert; vocal solo, "Mighty Like A Rose," Mrs Grant Hansen: speakers, Marion.-. Ross, of Arcadia; Ar-cadia; Oscar Nelson, of Upalcc; vocal solo, "In The Garden," - Grant Peel; benediction, Marvin G. Shields. Burial was in the Upalco Cemetery, Cem-etery, under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary, of Roosevelt. Scott Lusty- uncle of the baby, dedicated the grave. The community extends sin-cer sin-cer sympathy to the family. 1 The Relief Society held its work meeting Tuesday at the church. .with 18 members present. pres-ent. Wood fiber flowers were made, and a delicious lunch was served. FAREWELL PARTY A farewell parly was given Monday night in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Smith, who left Tuesday to make rtheir home in Tooele. A very enjoy- able evening was spent square dancing and playing games. Refreshments Re-freshments were served to a large crowd. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sol-monson, Sol-monson, of Pleasant Valley, Mrs. Lydia Nielson and Mrs. Oiga Sol-omonson, Sol-omonson, of Myton; Harley and Mary Evans and Miss Potts, of Upalco were among the ouc-of-town guests who were present. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Uresk, ! of Myton, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Gilbert Gil-bert Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Smith and children, of Orem; Mrs. Merle Smith, of Bridgeland. visited vis-ited at the home of Mr. and Mrn. Charlie Bird. Home, visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Mar-ion Ross. Mrs. Clair Duncan and children, chil-dren, of Neola, Mrs. Charlie Bird, Delaine and Mildred Bird visited Thursday with Mrs. Thelma Thel-ma McKenna. Mrs. Ellen Hawkins, of Colorado, Colo-rado, arrived Thursday night to visit her brother, Ardon Evans, and family, Mrs. Bessie Lusty and family, and her father, Geo. Evans, and family, of Upalco. Mrs. Gladys Ross, Mrs. Marion Mar-ion S. Shields and Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Ross attended the Relief Society convention at Duchesne Sunday. Mrs. Elsie " Nielson, Ramona Nielson, of Myton, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin G. Shields on Thursday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mecham and children, of Mt. Home, visited vis-ited Tuesday at the home o.' Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ross. Leon Ross spent a few days in Mt. Home helping his brother-in-law with his hay. Speakers at Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday evening were Kent Jensen, Ida Horrocks, Charlie Jensen, Gladys Capson. Deon Bird and Bishop Garn Gilbert. Norma and Donna Larsen visited vis-ited a couple of days in Salt Lake and Park City with Mr. and Mrs. Cal Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Cal Cook and family, of Park City, are visiting vis-iting at the home of Mrs. Cook's grandmother, Mrs. Cynthia Larsen. Lar-sen.
