Show Cp!. Homer Weeks Dies 8a ECorean Battlefield Cpl. Homer G. Weeks, son oi Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Weeks, of Altonah, was listed as an Independence Day casualty in I Korea .... He was killed in action on July 4. Born in Roosevelt Dec. 25, 1930, Cpl. Weeks moved with la ii i n i .ii... ,mr,. xi . J CPL. HOMER WEEKS .... July 4 war casualty his family to Altonah when he was 8 years old. He attended school there and was a graduate of the Altamont High School, class of '49. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as a ward teacher before entering military service in April 1950. He spent a short furlough with his family last August and was shipped to Japan Sept. 1, 1951, where he was an M.P. at the Sugmo prison. He was sent to Korea May 1, 1952. Details of his death on July 4 are still lacking. Besides his parents, Cpl. Weeks is survived by three brothers, Gerald and Floyd, of Altonah, and James Weeks, of Gaifield; two sisters, Florence and Ruby Weeks, Altonah; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James McAfee, Woods Cross. |
