Show SOS Groups Meet Tour Uintah Basin Projects Seven of ten directors of the Utah State Association of Soil Conservation District Supervisors Supervis-ors joined the Uintah Basin SCS district officers and directors last Friday and Saturday in Roosevelt at a conference, barbecue bar-becue and tour of the area. The district confab began Fri-day Fri-day afternoon at 3 o'clock with a meeting of officials and directors direc-tors held at the Commercial Bank of Utah, where they heard. Ray Walker, of Albuquerque, N. M., western states supervisory Joe Libby, state conservationist; Golden Kilburn, Extension Service Ser-vice director, U S A C. Logan; and J. D. Hooper, secretary-treasurer secretary-treasurer of the state group. Other state officers present were L. E. Thordesson, president, and G. M. Hinckley, vice-president. Approximately 75 attended the barbacue Friday evening at the power plant in Uinta Canyon, Can-yon, and 35 participated in the tour on Saturday morning. Leaving Roosevelt at 8 a. m. Saturday the caravan stopped at projects in the Roosevelt. Myton My-ton and Pleasant Valley areas. First stop was at the Russian Knapweed experimental control plot near Roosevelt, which has been established by Louis Jensen, Jen-sen, Duchesne county agent. From there the group went on to inspect a farm drainage project pro-ject at the Senor Monenson farm south of Rooseveii; a dod-der-control-in-alfalfa project at the Hardman farm on Myton Bench; a border leveling system of irrigation on Frank Liddell's farm in Pleasant Valley; a land leveling project and overnight storage reservoir on the Hancock Han-cock Brothers farm in Pleasant Valley; a combination parshall-flume parshall-flume and divider belonging to the Uintah Basin Irrigation Co. in Pleasant Valley, and a syphon sy-phon installed to transport water wa-ter across a deep wash on the C. N. Bolton farm east of Ballard. Bal-lard.
