Show Mr. and Mrs. Grant Killian returned recently from a week's vacation to interesting parts of Colorado Denver, Pike's Peak, Estes Park, Boulder. They were accompanied on the trip by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Parker, of Riverside, River-side, California. Guests at the John Gale home Wednesday were his brother, Waldo Gale, and family, of Helper. The Indian Mission of thd Uintah Basin has been requested to furnish some Indians for the Grand View LDS Ward float for the July 24 parade. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Corbridge and family, of Soda Springs. Idaho, visited here Thursday evening through Saturday with friends. Mr. Corbridge, manager man-ager of the J. C. Penney Store at Soda Springs, is a former assistant manager of the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Penney store. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Jensen and family returned Sunday from Yellowstone Park where they vacationed for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Scholes left Monday for a two-week vacation va-cation to Yellowstone National Park. Mafion Bowman was a Salt Lake business visitor last Friday and Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Nixon and family left Monday morning for a few days' trip to Phoenix. The Smith Johnsons left for Yellowstone Park Tuesday to vacation. Seems Yellowstone is the popular vacation spot of the season. Mr. and Mrs. George Buchanan Buchan-an and sons, Vernon and Rollin, attended a Buchanan reunion at Vivian Park in Provo Canyon last Saturday. Mrs. C. H. Labrum left Friday for Phoenix, Arizona, to meet her sister, Mrs. Max Llewellyn, who will spend the summer in Salt Lake City and Roosevelt. Bud Farr, of McGill, Nevada, senior student at Westminster College, spent the weekend as a guest at the Fretwell home. Mr. and Mrs. Glade Richardson Richard-son returned home Monday night from a two-week vacation. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Summare'l of Paulsbo, Washington, and friends, Williene Weatherill, also of Poulsbo, and Deloris Fenn, of Seattle, were visitors last week at the home of Mr. Sum-marell's Sum-marell's father, Sam Summav-ell. Summav-ell. While here on vacation they made a trip to see their son, Bill, who is stationed with the Air Force in Cheyenne. Wyo. They returned to their home in Poulsbo Monday. The Eldredge family, their guests, and Mrs. Mary Eldredge, spent Saturday and Sunday at their cabin in Uinta Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harrison Harri-son and children, Nancy and Bob, left this week for a vacation vaca-tion trip to California, planning to be gone two weeks. Dr. R. V. Larson spent Wednesday in Salt Lake City made the trip for an interview with the governor on civil defense. de-fense. Harrison, of Salt Lake City, arrived Wednesday to spend a couple of weeks in Roosevelt. They brought John and Dick Ruppel home, after the boys had spent a month as their guests in Salt Lake. Taking to the coolness of the canyons for their vacation were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Bellon, who left last Friday for Rock Creek Canyon. Mrs. Wilford Robinson left Tuesday morning for Phoenix. Arizona, to attend funeral services ser-vices for a niece. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Glen Killian, who are the proud parents of a 6V4 lb. baby boy, born July 7 in th Roosevelt Roose-velt Hospital. Also elated over the arrival are the paternal and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Killian and Mr. and Mrs. Marinus Christensen. The infant answers to 'Owen Glenn.' Weekend guests of George Taylor and his mother. Mrs. Elon Taylor, were Mr. and Mr?. Claude Empey, of Price. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smitn and family, of Helper, are visiting vis-iting relatives in Roosevelt and Bluebell. i Mrs. Cliff Rockwood and children chil-dren returned home Wednesday I after spending over a week in Salt Lake City visiting with Mr. Rockwood, who is receiving j medical treatment at St. Mark's Hospital. Mrs. Dale Belcher, of Juneau, Alaska, is visiting with her father, fath-er, Dave Andrews, and other relatives. She plans to leave Monday to' visit in California be- jfore returning to her home in i Alaska. Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Cook and Mr. and Mrs. Clem Labrum drove to Cheyenne, Wyoming, last Thursday, "enjoying a combined com-bined business and pleasura jaunt. Miss Judy Lambert, of Bluebell, Blue-bell, is visiting this week with Kay Labrum. Enjoying the weekend in Provo were Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Jenkins,' Jeniel and Dennis, and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert McKenna. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Leland McKenna. Drs. Vere and Don Johnson left by plane Tuesday night for Denver, Colorado, where they had an appointment to take their physical examinations. John Gilbert and daughter, Shauna, returned home Sunday night. They had left the previous pre-vious Tuesday to take Mrs. Byron By-ron Gilbert to San Francisco to join her husband, who is stationed sta-tioned there. Mr. Gilbert and Shauna returned re-turned to Salt Lake via Los Angeles and Hollywood. Mrs. Gilbert met them in Salt Lake City. . ,;i Yellowstone National Park was the destination of Shirley, Bill and Pam Murdock when they" left Tuesday for a vacation trip. They thought they might take in other points of interest while touring around. Vacationing is the word for it for the Paul Murphys. Accompanied Accom-panied by their daughter, Ann, and Mr., and Mrs. E. L. Murphy, Mur-phy, they returned home Sunday Sun-day night after spending ten days in Seattle and California. They returned home via San Francisco way. After getting their breath and making sure that John Paul (whom they found with the measles) was okay, they took off again Wednesday morning for Estes Park, Colorado. Mrs. Murphy's mother, Mrs. Alice Lublin, accompanied them. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilkins, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Cal Wilkins, left this week to visit with a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Wilkins, Wil-kins, in California. Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Buchanan and twins. Jack and Jill, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Bertha Herbert, Her-bert, will leave Saturday morning morn-ing to attend the Wells reunion at Payson City Park. Mrs. John H. Olsen and son. Brent, of Salt Lake City, arrived ar-rived last Saturday to visit with her sister, Mrs. Alva Snow, and family for about ten days. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shields are spending two weeks in San Francisco. Mr. Shields is in the Navy Reserve and reports for duty for a few weeks each summer. sum-mer. Mrs. Karl Betts and new son, John W., arrived home from the Roosevelt hospital last Sunday. Proud daddy has been walking on air since the new arrival put in an appearance on July 9, and is especially glad it was a boy, since they already have a little girl. Weight of John W. at birth was 5V2 pounds. Guy Lynn Taylor has been advanced ad-vanced to the rank of seaman. Guy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurel Taylor of Cedarview. Joe Malnar, district manager, Farmers' Union Insurance, attended at-tended a state and district manager's man-ager's convention at Denver from July 7-11. Managers from 23 states were present at the convention. While in Denver, Mr. Malnar visited with Noel Hamm, who was instrumental in organizing Farmers' Union in this area.
