FFA Sweetheart Joy Warburton Chosen Utah FFA Sweetheart Joy Warburton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Warburton of this city, was chosen Utah FFA Sweetheart as a feature of the 1957 FFA Convention held at Hotel Ho-tel Utah. Salt Lake City on Mar. 29 and 30. She was crowned by John Haid, National FFA president. presi-dent. Joy was chosen for her pleasing pleas-ing personality and varied talents. She is currently a senior at the Pleasant Grove High School. Judy Jolley, attendant to Miss Warburton, was present at thn convention and participated in the coronation ceremonies held at the concluding banquet Saturday evening. ev-ening. Approximately 30 members of the local FFA chapter attended the convention and received considerable consider-able help and encouragement in their work planned for the coming year. The Pleasant Grove Chapter received re-ceived a superior rating for their consistent and excellent work. Other convention activities included includ-ed a speech contest, parliamentary I proceedure contest, and nomination nomina-tion and election of state officers - for the coming year. Darrell Frampton of the local chapter sang j a vocal solo at one of the meet ings. |
