Show ! Community Pays Last Tribute To Fred S. Healey The community paid last respects to Fred Smith Healey, at funeral services Tuesday afternoon in the Second ward chapel. Bishop Joseph H. Storrs officiated. Mr. Healey died Saturday at his home here, following a lingering illness. ill-ness. He was 53. Speakers at the funeral services were James B. Smith of Alpine, President Clifford E. Young, and Bishop Storrs. The services were opened with a song, "No Night There," sung by Mrs. Edith G. Young, accompanied by Mrs. Gerald Heaton. Leonard S. Harrington offered of-fered the opening prayer. Musical selections included a duet, "Whispering Hope," by Kenneth Robinson and Mrs. Ora H. Chipman, I accompanied by Mrs. Mary Humphries; Hum-phries; a violin solo, "The Rosary," by Miss Mildred Richards, accompanied accom-panied by Miss Irene Shelley; and a vocal solo, "In the Garden of Tomorrow," To-morrow," by Rulon Nicholes, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Humphries. Bishop Edward W. Burgess of Alpine Al-pine pronounced the benediction. B. F. Moffett dedicated the grave at the American Fork cemetery. Mr. Healey was bom at Alpine on May 27, 1887, a son of Ephraim and Mary Watkins Healey, pioneers of 1852. He married Emeline Nash of Alpine, on September 15, 1909. They made their home in Alpine until twelve years ago, when they moved to American Fork. He engaged in farming, stockrais-ing stockrais-ing and mining, and was well known in the community. He was a member of the L. D. S. church. He is survived by his wife, seven sons and daughters, Mrs. W. A. Homer, Rita, Lola Rae, Fred and Jack Healey, all of American Fork; Dayton Healey of Magna, and Nash Healey of Salt Lake City; one brother, Frank Healey of Alpine; three sisters, Mrs. Edith Neilsen of Hamilton, Montana ; Mrs. Olivia McGregor Mc-Gregor and Mrs. Gertrude Bennett of Alpine, and one grandchild. |
