Show Virginia Mae Slater Obituaries James D. Branning PLEASANT GROVE -Virginia Mae Jacobsen Slater, 71, 152 W. 400 N., Pleasant Grove, died July 26, 1982 at her home. She was born November 9, 1910 in Vernal, a daughter of Daniel and Anna Sophia Schwalbe Jacobson. She married Joseph Warren Slater January 7, 1931 in Provo. He died September 12, 1981. She was an active member of the LDS Church, living in the Pleasant Grove 15th Ward where she had served for many years as a visiting teaching supervisor in the Relief Society. She had served her community as Judge of Election and Registration Agent. She attended schools in Vernal and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. She is survived by two sons: Robert W. Slater, Magna; Kenneth A. Slater, Pleasant Grove; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers: Curtis Jacobson, Pleasant Grove; Keith Jacobson, Copperton; Richard Jacobson, Midway. A son, Donald, preceeded her in death. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove 15th Ward Chapel, 800 North 100 West. AMERICAN FORK-Jfmes FORK-Jfmes DeWitt Branning. 67, of 463 North Center Street, American Fork died Thursday, July 22, 1982 at the Utah Valley Hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1914, in Marshall, Texas a son of James Oscar and Lulu Branning. He married Olive Hardy on Sept. 11, 1939, in Salt Lake City. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He worked for U.S. Steel for 28 years until retiring. Survivors include his wife; one son and two daughters, Royce D. Branning, North Chicago, 111.; Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Fenwick, Pekin, 111.; Mrs. James A. (Peggy) Dunn, Lafayette, La., and one brother, Jack R. Branning, Meridian, Miss., and six grandchildren. grand-children. Funeral was held in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel in American Fork. Cremation followed the services. The family suggests contributions to the Utah Heart Association. |
