Several times the stringers underneath have been taken out and straightened I when extra heavy loads have gone over it. i The intention of the city ls. to construct con-struct a bridge tho full width of the street, with sidewalks on each side, a double drive-way With streetcar tracks in the center. Bids will be asked for to re-construct and remove the old bridge to a location In the northwestern northwest-ern part of the city, this will rellove the. traffic on Washington avenue and imaice a long wanted outlet Into the city from the northwest. The program contemplated by the board of commissioners relative to tlie construction of bridges is to construct a reinforced concrete bridge at Wash-Washlngton Wash-Washlngton avenue, thus relieving the complete width of the street. The present steel .bridge is Inadequate for traffic conditions and Is also dangerous danger-ous and unsafe.. It Is the further plan of the board of commissioners to remove re-move the present steel structure and reconstrutt or replace tho same across gden river at some point west of ashington avenue, thus relieving the congested condition on Washington avenue and Ogden river and further helping those residing in the western part of the cltv who desire to go to and from tti- north and south part of town without having to go up to Washington avenu It might be stated here, thai at the present time all traffb north and south through Ogden city must j necessarily have to pass over tho Ogden Og-den river bridge at Washington avey jnue.
