DWIGHT ALLEN COMPTON Miss Marilyn Warner Becomes August Bride On August 20, Miss Marilyn Warner became the bride of Dwight Allen Compton in a double-ring ceremony which took place in the Pa rowan First So-1 cond Ward Relief Society Room. The ceremony was performed by Bp. Gordon Farnsworth in the presence of the immediate family fam-ily of both bride and bridegroom and a number of close friends. ( The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Jlara S. Warner and the1 kri.kvoom z a son of Mr. and Trs. Ha.uid N. Compton of Colo-! r r"iss, Coin. j .lrs. Rf'i'iH Stubos played the wedding march and the1 I bride was given in marraige by' her grandfather, George Stevens.' Mrs. Joyce W. Wcxid was mat-, ron of honor for her sister. Mrs.' Brent Lovell and LeF.tta C'omp-ton C'omp-ton were bridesmaids with thet Misses Connie. Bonnie and Holly i Ann Wood as flower girls. Mas-, ter Dennis W. Wood was the ring bearer. Ted D'Arsey was best man. j For the occasion the bride wore a floor length gown of chantilly lace over net with a fitted bodice. The gown featured featur-ed a scalloped neckline and long tapering sleeves. The full skirt: had a pleated lace inset in front.) She carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds. The bridesmaids wore pink sheath dresses and carried baskets bask-ets of pink and orchid flowers. Matron of honor and the flower girls wore dresses of orchid nylon ny-lon and carried baskets of pink and orchid flowers. The bride's mother wore an orchid dress and the bridegroom's bride-groom's mother choose a dress of blue, and both wore corsages of carnations and pink rosebuds. Following the marriage a reception re-ception was held in the ward recreation hall. A program was also presented with Max Dalley serving as master of ceremonies. Alma Lawrence gave the opening open-ing prayer and Rupert Mulct the benediction. Musical riumbcrs included in-cluded a guitar solo by Johnny Esplin; a dance by Mary Kaye Evans and Kent Dalton; a song by LeNoir Assay; a trombone solo by Roy Rummler; and a son by Verl Taylor. Readings were presented by Ruth Boardman and by Mrs. Max Hendrickson. At the guest register for the evening was Mrs. Leonard Orton. Assisting in the kitchen were Mrs. Rupert Hu'et, Mrs. Homer Adams, Mrs. George Rowley, and Mrs. Joan Wheatley. Emily Mae Rhodes, Rose Ann Mickelson, V'al Rey Bryant and Eleanor Johnson were serving. In the gift room '.vere Diane Davis, Daye Esplin and Faye Hollingshead. The young couple are honeymooning honey-mooning at Gunnison National Park, Colo, arid will make their home In Denver, Colo. In ra rowan to attend the marriage mar-riage were Dwight Allen Comp-to,i Comp-to,i and Mr. and Mrs. Adlia Wood and family of Norwalk. Calif.: Mr. and Mrs. Harold N. CiiT.pton of Colorado Springs, Colo: and -Miss LeEtta Compton, Mr. and Mrs. Artie Ingwexsen and Ted D'Arsey also of Colo. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Stevens came from Salt Lake City to be in attendance. j Elcx'k parties seem to be the fad of the week as the (500 West street held their annual summer I event. A turkey dinner was cn-I cn-I joyed by seventeen families at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Hahne. The neighbors enjoyed en-joyed the social occasion which was planned by committee members mem-bers Mrs. Gary Smith and Mrs. E. H. Hahne. Stopping for a short visit with Mrs. Violet L'rie was Mrs. Leona Clark and two gradsons. Mrs. Clark was enroute to her home j in Las Vegas after having a-tender, a-tender, a wedding in 'V'n, Utdl. I I Western Colorado was ine va I cation site for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jensen and children. The Jensens toured Arches National i Monument and made a twenty- mile boat trip down the Colorado River from Moab, Utah. Delta, 1 Silvertown aind Durango were a few of the Colorado communities visited by the Jensen family. While in Durango they were welcomed by former Cedar City residence, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne , Howard and family. |
