Show Wedding Plans Told For Sylvia Smedley. David Dix An announcement supper held in Bountiful Monday announced the engagement and approaching approach-ing marriage of a Bountiful girl and a Cedar City man, both graduates grad-uates of the University of Utah. It was announced at the supper that Miss Sylvia Smedley of Bountiful and David Dix of Cedar. Ce-dar. City would exchange marriage mar-riage vows at the University of Utah Institute of Religion on Sept. 15. The supper was held at the home of the bride's parents, with close friends of the couple in attendance. The bride-elect, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James S. Smedley of Bountiful, served as student body historian at the University of Utah, and was a member of the Spurs, Cwean, Mortar Board and Beehive, honorary societies. The groom-elect, a son of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Dix of Cedar City, was also active at the U of U. particularly in publications and speech, serving as business manager man-ager of the Utah Chronicle, student stu-dent newspaper, and also participating parti-cipating very sucessfully in debate. de-bate. He is a graduate of the Cedar City high school where he gained considerable recognition recogni-tion in the field of debate and speech. |
