Show 10th Annual Show .... May 9 Set For Moon Lake Jr. Stock Show Plans for the 10th Annual Moon Lake FFA Junior Livestock Live-stock Show are well underway, according to adviser H. Ross Berrett. The livestock show is scheduled for - May 9 and will be held at the Altamont rodeo grounds. . Such events as student judging, judg-ing, showmanship, and official judging of hogs, dairy cattle, sheep and beef cattle will be included. Both senior and- junior entries en-tries will be welcomed, but premium money will be paid to junior entries only. All entry en-try blanks must be in by May 1. The show is being planned by FFA officers, Billie Ralphs, president; Clyde Goodrich, vice-president; vice-president; Lowell Leavitt, secretary; sec-retary; Udell Winkler, reporter; who will be assisted by the following- committees: Duane Young, stock show chairman; Udell Winkler, collection chairman; chair-man; Bruce Goodrich, grounds chairman. A trophy will be presented to the individual who brings the best steer to the show. This will be given with the compliments compli-ments of Sathers' Jewelry, of Roosevelt. Sather's will also present pre-sent a trophy to the boy's school. There will be no awards given to adult entries. In order to qualify, junior entries must be regularly registered in a 4-H or FFA Club as the boy or girl being the owner. Stock show officials state that it is not the intention of the association to exclude any senior sen-ior entries, but that the money will be given to junior exhibitors exhibit-ors to help build up an interest in the younger group. Senior entrants are being invited as a stimulation to the juniors as well as for advertisement for their animals. Junior animals will be judged according to merit and not according ac-cording to competition at the show. All animals deserving blue ribbons will receive one; but if no animal is a blue ribbon rib-bon calf, no blue ribbon will be given. Premium money will be paid this year according to the ribbon received. Points calculated calculat-ed for blue ribbon winners is approximately 25 points; 10 points for red ribbons; and 5 points for white ribbons. Premium Pre-mium payment will be made for so much for each point given in the judging of the animal. |
