Show Kiwanis Official Addresses Local Club At Reefing The Roosevelt Kiwanis Club last night was paid an official visit by its lieutenant governor, Warwick C. Lamoreaux, of Salt Lake City, who delivered a stirring address on responsibilities responsibil-ities and duties a service club has to its community. Mr. Lamoreaux, who is a member of the Bonneville Club in Salt Lake, cautioned the various var-ious committees that the only-way only-way they could' justify their membership in Kiwanis was to do the jobs needed in the community. com-munity. He urged the Public Affairs committee to work closely close-ly with the city council and mayor on the many and varied programs the city has to consider. con-sider. He challenged the Youth Welfare committee to go to work for the "kids," and to see that the underpriveleged are aided. Mayor J. V. McLea was a guest of the club and briefly outlined the program for "cleaning "clean-ing up Roosevelt" that is now underway with washing the streets and cleaning up alleys, vacant lots. etc. He invited Kiwanis Ki-wanis to join in the campaign Five members of the Vernal club, headed by Dr. Wayne Marrs joined in the meeting. Other guests included Bruce Fitzgerald, Roosevelt, and Frank Petereit, of Salt Lake City. Mrs. David Watkins assisted her husband with the club singing as pianist. A charter member of the club, Arvin Bellon, who withdrew with-drew his membership about a year ago because of pressing problems, was reinstated in the club and officially welcomed by Floyd Peterson, president, who presided over the meeting. Plans were laid for the second annual Fire Works display on July Fourth and J. D. Walker was named chairman of the committee to work out the details. de-tails.
