Show EllenBracken School Resumed At Alterra Apr. 17 School was held at Alterra Thursday and Friday for all except ex-cept students in the Whiterocks area who ride buses driven by Elbert Smith and Dee Allred. Bad roads prevented the buses from traveling those routes. F. O. Lundberg, of Tooele, spent several days last week at the homes of his sons, David and Francis, in Independence. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jenkins and family spent their Easter vacation in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Xavier Bellon is enjoying enjoy-ing a trip to San Francisco, to visit with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meh-ner, Meh-ner, who are the parents of a baby girl. This is the Mehner's first child. Mrs. Mehner is the former Louise Bellon. Quite a number of M I A officers of-ficers attended the leadership meeting held in Roosevelt Thursday evening. Miss Barbara Hullinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger, won. second place in an essay contest conducted recently re-cently at Union High School. Mr. and Mrs. Max Gardner and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Mullins, of Roosevelt, joined with the group from Ballard in square dancing on Thursday evening-, April 17. Pfc. Roger Fisher, from Jen j sen, who taught the 7th grade at 1 Alterra last year, is stationed I now at Fort OrdrCalifornia. I Mrs. Squire Mangum enter-i enter-i tamed a group of friends in i honor of her son. Jay, on his I 13th birthday, which .was on ' Wednesday. Delmar Gardner and three daughters are preparing their home in Alterra for occupancy. I Mrs. Stella Chapoose, who closed her gift shop at the ! Whiterocks road -junction during dur-ing the winter months, has opened op-ened it to the public now. Mrs. Chapoose has been staying at the home of a daughter in Ft. Duchesne. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ewell, of Springville, enjoyed a three-day three-day visit at the home of Mrs. Ewell's brothers, Calvin and Spencer Squire, and families. Norman Jenkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Jenkins, had the I misfortune to cut one of his feet 1 Friday while working on a ditch. Several stitches were required re-quired to close the wound. I Mrs. Ada Pickup, of Randlett, spent Friday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Kettle. Mrs. Earl Gardner is a part time clerk in the shoe store in Roosevelt. |
