Show Huntington Nonpartisan Special Correspondence > Huntington Oct 19At last the long expected mass meeting to nominate town officers has been held anti a new board crln ciIj consisting of a president and four trustees has been nominated Politics were abso lutely ignored and contrary to the expectation expec-tation of same a more quiet meeting has not been hM In Huntington for years It was expected that the same old song of dlsSBCorporatlon would be sung with a vengeance but the subject was not mooted moot-ed The town reduced its outstanding indebtedness about onehalf last year and with the incoming board it is expected I I ex-pected that the town will eietar itself in I the near future and public improvements I I will take no new impetus at an early date The town needs a new jail and hall which the new officers will be eccpectEd to look after as fast as possible The nominees for the new town board are A E Wall president John W Lott D C Woodward John L Brasher Mart Jensen trustees The convention was strictly nonpartisan I nonparti-san though the complexion of the board is four Democrats and one Populist |
