Show STOCK YARDS REPORT t I Pleasant Weather Has Given Impetus I Impe-tus to Shipments S 4 t I PROTESTS OF SHIPPERS 4 t CENSTJBE THE RAILROADS FOR CAB SHOBTAGE + Snowstorm and Cold Winds Caused Much Suffering Among Sheep Awaiting Shipment to Market Business at Union Stockyards During Du-ring the Past Week t j Severe snowstorms and cold winds In the northern portions ot tho livestock belt have caused considerable suffering among the sheep awaiting shipment to the eastern and southern markets The breeders are up in arms < and directing a large amount at adverse criticism against the railroad corporations for permitting a scarcity of livestock cars at the time when they are most needed Thousands of sheep have been confined In the pens and grown poor while awaiting the pleasure at the railroad pornpanie entailing considerable loss financially to the breeders They claim that the conditions have prevailed for years and each succeeding season It grows worse the number Of new cars added to the railroad equipment falling far below the proportionate increase of livestock The pleasant weather oC the past few days has given a new Impetus to the shipments Following were Union Stockyards shipments T D Ryan had a car of fat calves and a car of hogs frOnt Cache valley weighed to Knight Co wholesale slaughterers I 4 E S Brooks of Ogden seven cars of heavy cows consigned from B B Brooks of American Falls to South Omaha H S McCully and John S Reed of American Falls five cars of horses for the Grand Avenue Horse Mule Commission Com-mission company of Kansas City J L and J P Wrathold and Brown of Grantsville delivered some 6QO head of stock cattle at the yards to Spencer Anderson which went to Nebraska points via the Short Line and Union Pacific A Bates of Wanship drove In a bunch of beef cattle which went over the scales to Knight Co R T Boatman of Melrose Mont general western manager of the Grand j Avenue Horse Mule Commission company had in six loads of heavy horses en route to Kansas City for their big sale on Oct 25 and 26 W S White had in ten loads of Nevada Ne-vada steers for the feed lots at the sugar su-gar works at Lehi Haley Sanders had two trains of mixed cattle at Milford for the Wyoming Wyo-ming pastures and eastern feed lots Lew Bradley of Deeth Nev seven cars of Nevada horses for the eastern markets One or two small drives in closed the weeks arrivals at the Union Stockyards Stock-yards The Colorado Midland had a tralnload of sheep out of Colton during the week They were shipped by Thompson Rockhill Three trainloads of livestock went out of Winnemucca Nev over the Midland to the eastern markets General Livestock Agent Hudnall of the Midland is at Grand Junction loading load-ing cattle H H Lawson of Mallory Son Zimmerman Zim-merman company returned last night from Colton where he has been attending at-tending to sheep shipments J B Kerr of the St Joe stackyards returned last night from a trip along the line of the Western I |
