Show ASSOCIATION BEING FORMED BY STUDENTS Freshmen in large numbers registered at both the East and West high schools yesterday, besides many of the upper classmen. Iast year the enrollment at I the schools was more than 1000 each and more is expected this semester. Many will register during the remainder of the week ami active school work will ho started start-ed at least by Friday. This year the freshmen will be known as 9-A, the sophomores as 10-A and the juniors and seniors as 11-A and 12-A, respectively, re-spectively, as a result of the junior high school plan. Plans for the formation of a student as- I sociation at the West high school are now under way and every student Is expected I to join. Each member must pay his dues arid the activity cards will admit nim to j all athletic contests and other activities I under the school's supervision. The dues ! will form a fund, which will be used for I the promotion of the different organlza- tions in the school and no doubt will ere- 1 ate a greater interest In the welfare of the institution. Last year the student association was organized at. the Fast school, hut onlv a few Joined. Before a pupil receives his registration slip this year he must pay his association Dm so that every student In the school will he a member of the organization. or-ganization. The dues will he used to support sup-port the different activities in the school. |
