Show MAN iS HELD FOR ARMOUR ROBBERY Melville Reeves, Known as "Sky-scraper Burglar," Arrested by Police. CHICAGO, Sept. 7. Melville Reeves, known as the "Sky-scraper Burglar," was ordered held tonight In connection with tbe robberv at the home of Mrs. J. Ogden Armour last night. The police declared that Reeves, who had been taken into custody and was being- held in hiding, answered an-swered the description of one of the two men who entered the Armour home, held Mrs. Armour and her three maids at bay with a pistol and escaped with $76 in currency and ?33S5 in jewels. Arrangements Arrange-ments have been made to have Reeves confronted by Mrs. Armour for identification, identifica-tion, probably tomorrow morning. No other arrests were made during- the dav and the police obtained no definite clews as to the robbers. Mr. Armour said he expected to offer a reward for the apprehension ap-prehension of the two men. A finger print that appeared on a jewel case handled han-dled by the robbers was compared with records at the police bureau of identification. identifi-cation. Less than a block from the Armour home it was discovered today that the f. residences of Congressman Martin B. Madden and B. T. Glennon. a former judge, had been entered by burglars. Tn Congressman Maddens home the rear window was broken, the Turkish rugs rolled up, the silverware in bags and tbe jewelrv collected in piles when the police arrived. The robbers had escaped. es-caped. The -Madden and Glennon homes were both unoccupied, the two families being at summer resorts. |
