Show in Neoo Scfioo Board revises calendar, hears salary proposals, sets wane policies rather than the 8" previously approved. It w is th consensus of the board that these minor 'hangos be accepted and that this revised calendar be accepted accep-ted as the approved calendar foi the school year 1969-70. Supt. Reidhead outlined to the board the status of the salary sal-ary negotiations to date, indicating indi-cating that four salary propos als had been submitted to the Nebo Education Association Representatives all of which tit into the approved budget for the 19eB-70 school year. The Association had rejected the proposals but wanted to study alternate proposals with the superintendent. Motion: Dr. William H. Sor-ensen, Sor-ensen, seconded, Dr. .T. Robert Hogan that the board authorize the superintendent to continue to work with the association in an effort to reach a settlement which would: 1. Meet the competition of beginning salaries with the surrounding districts. 2. That they should stay with in the approved budget amount, granted for all employees. mm m Supt. Rcidhead presented to the board a salary schedule for the lunch workers of the Nebo S'hool District which had a breakdown for workers in the schools between 100 and 250 participants, another one between be-tween 250 and 500, and a schedule sche-dule for schools for 500 or over. ov-er. The salary schedule spread frcm $7.45 per hour up to a maximum of $1.60 per hour. Motion: Dr. William H. Sor-ensen, Sor-ensen, seconded, Glenn W. Coff-man. Supt. Reidhead recommended that the board consider the possibility of hiring hir-ing college or high school stu-e'ents stu-e'ents to work as groups to do the routine sweeping and dusting dust-ing of the schools in each area while the custodians act as su-pei su-pei visors of this cleaning. The custodians main function would be the repairing and maintenance mainten-ance of the buildings. After a brief discussion of the group it was the consensus that Supt. Reidhead should try this approach ap-proach to help solve the problem prob-lem of adequate custodial held. In other business handled, the board approved the firm of Gardner -Hawkins and Borup to be appointed for one year only to audit the books and records of Nebo School District for the 1968-69 fiscal year. Voting was unanimous. |
