Expert prediction was blown to smithereens today when a rejuvenated Yale team vanquished a confident Princeton eleven, bya score of 13 to 7, Yale took the lead In the second period on two Held goals by Guernsey, only to have it smashbd away by a Princton touch-down touch-down a few minutes later, the half ending with the Tigers ahead a siugle point. Princeton lost the game at the very start of tho third poriod when Tlbbott muffed a punt and Way, the Yale tackle, scooped it. up and made the remaining 25 yards for tho touchdown without hindrance. Tho Tigers played play-ed desperately but Yale stopped ncarlv every forward pass. Just as tho game was closing Princeton with the ball on tho Ell's 8 yard lino tried a lateral pass, but bungled it so badly that Yale recovered it and the game was practically over. One of the greatest celebrations over seen on Yale field feollowed the final whistle. oo |
