Show THREE KILLED AT A ROAD GROSSING 1 IDAHO Twin Falls, Idaho, Nov. 12. Three persons were instantly killed and two others probably fatally injured hero this afternoon when a freight train crashed Into an automobile driven by Henry P Larson at a crossing at the south edge of the city. Tho dead? Mrs. Lawrence Hansen. Mrs. John Iverson. M. A. Patterson. Fatally injured: Henry P. Larson. Mrs. Henry P. Larson. Escaped without Injury: Two-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larson, thrown from the machine ma-chine to the side of the track, unhurt All of the members of the party were well-known citizens in the vicinity, vicin-ity, residing near Rock Creek, fifteen miles south of here. They were returning re-turning to their homes in a new automobile, auto-mobile, just purchased by Mr. Larson, who was driving. Side curtains were on the machine, and it Is believed the automobillsts must have been unable to get a clear view of the track aa they approached. The machine was hit squarely, and was completely demolished. de-molished. Perhaps the most remarkable feature fea-ture of the accident was the escape of the two-year-old baby of Mr. and i Mrs. Larson. The child was found at the side of the track, and must have been hurled through the air with terrific ter-rific force for a considerable distance. The child was only slightly bruised, and prattled happily tonight, innno-cent innno-cent of the tragedy which may make her an orphan before morning. Mrs. Hansen was the wife of Judge Lawrence Hansen of Hansen, a small settlement in the Rock Creek district. She was 65 years old and one of the most beloved women In the com-communlty. com-communlty. Pathetic in the extreme Is the sorrow of Judge Hansen, who Is slowjy going blind. Fears are felt for his life as a result of the terrific shock. The dead wore apparently instantly killed. Their bodies were horribly mangled. The body of Mrs. Hansen was found lying at the side of tho track, near the crossing. Tho bodies of the others had been carried some 400 yards further on in the wreckage that piled up on the pilot of the engine. Mrs. John Iverson, whose husband died about five years ago, was a daughter of Mrs. Hansen. She leaves five children. She had just returned today from a visit in Boise. She was met at the train by her mother. They had planned to return home on the evening train, but accepted the Invitation In-vitation of Mr. and Mrs. Larson to go in the new automobile, Mr. Patterson leaves a wife and six children. Mrs. Hansen is also survived sur-vived by auother daughter, wife of Dr. Albee of Rock Creek, one of the Twin Falls county commissioners. .Mr and Mrs. Larson are in a local hospital tonight, dangerously injured, and attending physicians hold out little lit-tle hope for their recovery. oj |
