Show IDSOI IHK IS ECONOMICAL From the Skyland country of Colorado Colo-rado to the expositions of tho Pacific coast at a total cost of $40 for subsistence sub-sistence and automobile expenses, as compared with railroad fares, sleeping sleep-ing cars and meals costing 5372 Is ; the splendid record of a Hudson trip. That is the experience of J. W. Cary , and family of four, who were accom-j accom-j panied by Dr. J. V. Solandt, all of Salt Lake City. The Lincoln highway was used from Salt Lake City to San Francisco, via Los Angeles. Tho homeward journey will be by way of the National Old Trails, visiting Grand canyon, Petrified Petri-fied forest and other scenic features of that road, crossing eight mountain ranges in Northern Arizona, and over the Transcontinental divide at 8214 feet in the westerly portion of New Mexico. Between t!ev Mexico and Colorado they will again drive their Hudson car over the high summit of Raton Pass and after a visit to the Royal gorge and the Garden of the Gods will make the final homeward lap by way of Berthoud Pass, crossing the summit at an elevation of two two miles above sea level. On the round trip the Cary party will enjoy nearly 5000 miles of "seeing "see-ing America," Including the finest of scenic features of the Pacific coast, Lake Tahoe. Yosemite valley, General I Grant and Sequoia National Parks and the world-renowned scenic features of , Arizona and New Mexico Before leaving home Mr. Cary had I already driven his Hudson car a dis-I dis-I tance of over 10,000 miles and had I so successfully accomplished many difficult drives in the mountains of Colorado that he had every confidence in making tho long journey to the Pacific Pa-cific coast in the same car.
