HISTORIC M I 1 to H VE memorial IVIe morial trails and MIA to place ilace marker at fish lake commemorating the treaty of peace effected with the fish lake indians in the year 1873 an official marker of the utah trails memorial association will be placed at fish lake near doctors creek the place where the treaty was formed by the sevier stake M I 1 A saturday Satu iday september 9 the memorial association will participate in the expense of pla placing ci ng the marker which is to be th the first to be put up in the state of utah john giles secretary of the utah trails memorial association and a member of the general board of the al I 1 A will bring the plate to I 1 richfield lie el friday and saturday H J hansen assisted by antone winkel and clarence smith of the scout and sanguar vanguard q departments of the AJ 1 I A will make the monument the plate will be placed on the monument at 4 p m at which time there will be a program and ceremony dedicating the monument although the treaty at doctors creek was followed a few days later by a treaty at cedar grove near koosharem Koo sharem in which indians from escalante and wayne county also participated doctors creek was chosen as the most feasible place for the marker because it is in a more prominent location and because of the fact that the treaty with the fish lake indians is considered of greater importance nce as a nucleus for other treaties les in making the announcement dr otto L anderson president of the sevier stake Y al al M I 1 A A stressed the fact that everyone in the county or nearby counties who is interested is invited to attend members of the general board of the al 1 I A who will come to richfield to attend the annual tri stake convention will participate
