| Show CREATING DISTRUST we recently read an article somewhere about the unfair and disastrous results of idle talk or gossip which has a tendency to reflect upon the stability of our banks and other business institutions such practices were condemned in no uncertain terms and we felt like uttering a fervent amerl amen to that little sermon undoubtedly we are going through such a crisis as this nation and the world at large seldom experienced to emerge safely and successfully will require the combined effort of every last one of us and it little behooves any nian man or woman to create distrust in those institutions which are the very backbone of our community welfare we honestly feel that our particular section has fared exceptionally well it ap these strenuous times time and that we ve are in a very much better condition than the average community sue hidle talk can only be called gossip just as any talk which casts a reflection upon the character of an individual and it is usually indulged in by persons who have a lot of time hanging on their hands which coult very well be put to some constructive E use rather than to tearing down the faith of the people it is easy to find so called explanations pla nations of what has brought about present conditions if you will take the time to listen to the curbstone curb stone conferences being held on the main alain street corner of 0 almost any town some blame it on to prohibition others to the fact that too much credit has been extended to the people others say that money is too tight and is being held by the wealthy who should allow more credit and put the money back into circulation cu but the peculiar feature about all this talk is that it is all destructive with very few con suggestions as to how the ills may be prevented and no effort on the part of these gossips to do anything about it themselves it is easy to do a lot of thinking but it if we do only harm by talking lets keep our coutlis closed and listen a little mole moie to what the real worker has to say |
