A number of our young people went to Leamington, Monday, to attend the calico dance. Ray Finlinson returned from Leamington, last Tuesday, where he had been for some time. The past week has been very cold. Several of the taps have frozen and the owners are compelled com-pelled to use ditch water again. The Sewing Club girls met with Edna Anderson, last Tuesday, Tues-day, to begin their needle work. Refreshments were served by Sylvia Christensen and others. P. Elder has taken up a homestead home-stead about two miles northwest of Oak City. The Oak City Brass Band was entertained at the home of Mrs. Caroline Rawlinson, Saturdsv evening. A delicious oyster supper was served which was enjoyed by all present. The band spent a short time practic- . ing, after which some business matters were attended to. Altogether Al-together this was one of the most successful social gatherings of the season. The basket ball game between Delta and Oak City district school teams was rather a onesided one-sided game, the score was 17 to 29 in favor of Oak City. We were pleased to see the Delta boys take defeat so pleasantly, but would like to have their teacher accompany them next time. A team of our younger boys went to Hinckley, last week to play the M. S. A. team, but were defeated by a score of 40 to 37 |
