Show Governor to be Honored at Birth-day Birth-day Ball Officials and representative citizens citi-zens of all sections of the. state will take part In the Governor's Birthday Birth-day Hull, honoring Governor and Mrs. Henry II. Blood at Coconut Grove, Ballroom in Salt Lake City,, Wednesday, October nth. The general committee headed by C. Clarence Neslen as chairman, and B. II. Robinson, secretary, has distributed Invitations-tickets to the chairmen of all county commissions, and has requested them to appoint invitation, committees to serve in each county. These invitation-tickets will be available to all desiring to attend, and may be obtained from the appointed committees. The celebration promises to be the outstanding social event of mayy years. The official family of the State has initiated the plan, and will serve as host to fete the people In commemorating the sixty-fifth birthday anniversary of our Governor Gover-nor and First Lady. Admission will be free, but will be restricted to invitations in-vitations to be distributed as indicated. in-dicated. The general committee has given assurances that there will be sufficient invitations available to the local committees to insure a good representation from this section. sec-tion. The ball is in no sense a political gathering, according to Mr. Robinson. Robin-son. It is to be a dignified, informal ball, at which all citizens and all officials may unite for a social I gathering. The military theme will be carried out in the festivities, and the full staff of the National Guard units and the Governor's military staff will have charge of the military mili-tary affairs of the evening, under direction of the adjutant general, General W. G. Williams. The Salt Lake Post American Legion fife and drum corps, and two military bands have been engaged for the occasion, in addition to a special dance orchestra. or-chestra. The plans of the general committee contemplate entertaining at this event up to several thousand thous-and people, Mr. Robinson said. o |
