Show Parowan to celebrate 124th birthday Monday and a welcome from Parowan's Mayor, Kendall 0. Gurr. At 2.00 p.m. the Drama Department at the school will present a melodrama that will be entertaining for all ages. This will be under the direction of Richard Johnson PHS Drama Teacher. 3:15 has been set as the hour for the annual Old Time Dance when young and old alike trip through the Danish Slide Off, Ten Pretty girls and many other dances the pioneers enjoyed. Parowan City wishes to invite all former residents and descendants of pioneers to come to Parowan Jan. 13 to the Birthday Bir-thday Party. .-.,.,.1 f i 4 l PAROWAN - Plans are being made for the annual birthday celebration for Parowan City. Parowan will be 124 years old Monday, January 13. The first settlement in this area Parowan was settled by a group of hardy pioneers in the dead of winter. These brave men and women will be honored on the City's birthday with a half day holiday declared by the Mayor. The students in the schools and residents and former residents are urged to dress in pioneer style and attend the festivities. The Elementary School will present a program at 9:10 a.m. Monday morning with songs and stories of pioneer origin. The public is invited to attend this program. People are then urged to meet at the high school commons where there will be a chance for visiting and recognition of older persons who have played a part m Parowan's history. Everyone will be asked to br ing a box lunch and the DUP will furnish a . Lunch will lxgin at 11:30 and continue until 1:00 p.m. At 1:00 a program will be presented in the high school auditorium, with Morris Rowley a former Parowan resident and very interesting individual as guest speaker. The program will also include musical numbers OBSERVANCE COMMITTEE.
