Hitting at a phenominal pace from outside early in the game the visitors from Arizona took an early lead, and despite a comeback early in the second half, were able to pick up the win. It was the second loss of the season for the T-Birds at the hands of the talented Grand Canyon crew. Grand Canyon clipped the nets at a 52.2 percentage pace throughout the contest while the T-Birds hitting only 32 percent in the first half came back for an overall 44.2 shooting percentage for the evening. Bryant Forrest did the most damage for the visitors as he connected on 10 of 16 from the field and one of two from the foul line for 21 points. He also hauled in 14 rebounds to lead his team in that department. Forrest was devastating inside and scored numerous points on tipin lobs over the SUSC defense. From the outside Mike Haddow Had-dow was top man with 20 points. He hit 8 of 27 from the field and 4 of 4 from the charity line. Robert Lee paced the T-Birds, particularly early in the second half when SUSC knotted the score at 45-all, Lee, Kerry Rupp and Robin Haight, paced the comeback, but the T-Birds ran out of steam and Grand Canyon moved away from a 51 deadlock to regain the lead, and maintain it for the remainder of the game. Leading scorer for the T-Birds was Lee with 18. He also led the rebounding with 14, matching Forrest effort in that department. depart-ment.
