Show services of two new wrestlers this quarter. They are Max Jackson H2), freshman state champ from Kanab, and Steve Miles (150), freshman from Salt Lake City (Olympus). Frank Snyder (142-50), sophomore from Lehi, has lei t the squad. He had a record of 2-5- 0 and placed fourth in the Western State tournament. The next action for the T-Birds will be at home January 22 when they meet NAIA and HMAC power Adams State. Match time is 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Fieldhouse. Invitational Wrestling Tourney slated at SUSC this week The Southern Utah State wrestling team resumes action Friday and Saturday, hosting the SUSC Invitational. Action gets under way at 10 a.m. Friday and at 9 a.m. Saturday in the SUSC fieldhouse. On Friday, teams from Mesa (Colorado), Colorado Northeastern, Nor-theastern, College of Eastern Utah, Snow College, Ft. Lewis, and SUSC will be represented. Saturday, Weber State, Western State and Northern Arizona will be added to the field. The meet will be run a little different. Instead of individuals being put in brackets the teams will be put in a bracket and advance as the team wins. Each team will be assured at least three matches. A loser's bracket will be included. Six places will be wrestled Friday and eight places Saturday. In opening round action Friday SUSC meets CEU at 10 a.m. while Snow takes on Colorado Northeastern. Mesa will take on the SUSC-CEU winner and Ft. Lewis will face Snow-CNE winner al 11:00. Saturday at 9 a.m. Weber State will take on Norethern Arizona and SUSC meets Western State.
