Show WIDT0ROR0ME TRACK " BECORDjS BROKE! Al Ward Rides Two Miles in 1:20 3-5; Ray Peck Has Spill. The motordrome track record was broken In the first event of the evening at Wandamere last night. At Ward riding tho two miles In 1:20 3-5. The previous record was held by Fred "Whlttler. who went the distance in 1:21 4-5. Ward took the lead from the start, Ray Peck, his opponent, keeping within about thirty feet during the entire course. It looked as though Peck would overtake the pacemaker pace-maker after the pair passed the tape on the last lap. but when near the flnlah something seemed to go wrong with his machine. When within about 100 feel of the finish Peck's wheel skidded to the top of the track and he was thrown in such a manner that he slid for a fhon distance and rolled to the bottoni With, the exception of a few small silvers In his legs Pock was unhurt, although his motorcycle motor-cycle was considerably damaged. Samuelson Is Winner. The second event, which was a two-mile two-mile class B race, was won by T. M. Samuelson, who had no real contender outside of R. ID. Rognon. the latter closing clos-ing a big gap -and passing Duckworth In tho Inst lap. On account of the slight injuries to Peck In the first race and the damage to his machine. J. A. McNeil was substituted substi-tuted In the third event. Ward won this three-mile event in 2:08. As this was two straight for Ward the fourth event was unnecessary. T. M. Samuelson took the lead in the four-mile class 13 race, being followed very closely by Rognon. In the seventh, lap Rognon's wheel failed to respond and as he was passed by Bert Smalling and F. M Duckworth he dropped out. Duckworth beat out Smalling by a close finish. McNeil easily won the three-mile class A event, with Ward second and Whlttler a close third, in the fast time of 2:0S 2-5. After going three and one-half laps In the last event, the Granite stakes, McNeil Mc-Neil dropped out. Ward winning in 3:38 2-5, the distance covered being five miles. F. E.
