An announcement of importance to local theater-goers was made last night by tho management of tho Utah theater thea-ter when word was rccoivod here that Kobcvt jMxKhn, a handsome and talented actor will arrive in Salt Lake on .I'lily 7, ready for rehearsals for the opening bill the following week, when he will appear as leading man. Negotiations between the Utah management man-agement and Mr. Me Kim were begun some time ago, and the pleasing news that ho would soon join the Utah players was received in a wire from the actor last, night. Mr. MeKim's first rolo at the Utah will bo that of Lieutenant Denton in "Arizona." Mr. McKim comes to 'Salt Lake with the reputation of being a polished actor. He is tall, good looking and has had a wide experience on the stage. He was Mrs. Langtry's leading man, phrvcfl in stock at Vancouver, B. C, was three years at tho college theater in Chicago, and was leading man throe seasons at the Valencia theater in San Franeisco. ITc also starred in "The Devil," produced with remarkable success suc-cess on the Orphcum circuit, and after closing that engagement he wont to Ta-eoma, Ta-eoma, Wash., where he has since played leads in stock productions. Me is said to possess a wealth of personal magnetism mag-netism and is not lacking in tho subtle power to sway audiences. Mr. McKim Mc-Kim has been engaged for several weeks at the Utah, and his friends pro-diet pro-diet lie will make a deep and lastiug impression on Salt Lake audiences. |
