A Montreal special to the Post says: Governor Wash-Iburn, Wash-Iburn, ex-Governor Pillsbury, and Mr.' I Fletcher, of Minneapolis, have been here for the last few days representing the flour milling interest of that city, interviewing Canadian Pacifio officials in regard to some important railroad connections. An understanding under-standing has been arrived at by which the Canadian Pacifio will be extended by a Western syndicate from Algoma to Sault St. Marie, whence a direct line to Minneapolis is building. While here the Minneapolis gentlemen made all necessary arrangements with the Bank of Montreal for the monetary assistance required, and by the fall of 1887 Montreal and Minneapolis will be in direct communication by the Canadian Pacific. This will give Minneapolis a shorter line- to the seaboard by 400 miles than any existing with Montreal, its summer port, and the choice of the United States and the maritime revenue ports for its winter shipments to Europe. .
