Show THE LEGISLATURE. The Council. February 8.-2 p. m. Mr. Slack presented pre-sented a petition of citizens of Washington Washing-ton county, saying that the floods last year had destroyed the roads through Rio Virgin valley, carrying away the large bridgej and asking an appropriation of $2,500 to rebuild it. The petition affirmed that the removal of the bridge had cut off communication with Arizona, ! it being on the chief route traveled thitherward. Referred to the Committee oh Highways. (' INTRODUCTION OF BILLS. By Mr. Sharp C. F. No. 34, amending section 6, chapter 46, laws of 1884, relating re-lating to fire insurance companies, requiring re-quiring such companies to have a capital of not less than $100,000, of which 25 per cent, must be paid in. Referred to the Committee on Judiciary. special order. C. F; No. 27, amending an act incorporating incor-porating the city of Morgan, in Morgan county, was read the third time, amended and passed. THE MEDICAL BILL. C. F. No. 16, to regulate the practice of medicine and the selling of medicine, was read the second time and placed in the general file. C. F. No. 31, amending sections 2 and 3 chapter 31, laws of 1882, relating to the duties of Territorial Sealer of Weights and Measures, was read the second time. Councilor Taylor, absent from the city on account of sickness, was excused. At 2:50 p. m, adjourned till 2 p. m. to-day. " - The House. I -February 9. Mr. Stratford presented a petition from the City Council of Morgan Mor-gan City, asking to have the city charter amended. Committee on Municipal Corporations Cor-porations and Towns. Mr. Hatch presented a petition signed by 300 female citizens of Wasatch county, asking the present Legislature to pass some law restricting the sale of liquor. Committee on Manufacture and Commerce. Com-merce. The Committee on Counties, to whom was referred C. F, No. 15, a bill relating to county boundaries, report the same I back with one amendment, and recommended recom-mended that it be put upon its passage. The Committee on Asylum for the In-Bane In-Bane reported back H. F. No. 43, and recommended that the $20,000 be appropriated appro-priated for the benefit of the Territorial Asylum. The Committee on Live Stock reported back H. F. No. 33, with a substitute bill, and recommended that the substitute be passed.
