I J 18 Btated that Commissioner McKay's offioe has received a great cumber of visits from discontented females who unreservedly complain of the treatment they receive at home and who manifest little or no reticence in giving their husbands' domestic affairs away. This may account for some of the success of the deputies. The residence ot a prominent citizen in the Fifteenth ward was entered Wednesday night by a burglar, and a small amount of money taken from the pockets of one of the inmates. The thief became alarmed at the awakening of a young lady whose room he had entered, and is thought to have skipped without further mischief. Several large mercantile firms in town are protesting very emphatically against the recent re-cent raise in their insurance rates which was passed upon by the insurance union here. Z. C M.
