Show j A Colored Citizens' Petition. Washington, January 29. In the Senate yesterday Ingalls presented the petition of Frederick Douglass and the leading colored citizens of the District of Columbia, complaining com-plaining against the discrimination against them at the theatres and other places of pub- lie entertainment in the City of Washington, and praying that the license laws of the District of Columbia be so amended as to prevent such discrimination. The petition, Ingalls said, was accompanied by an affidavit . in support of its averments. It was appropriately appro-priately referred. |
