Show Cent. Jaycees choose 'Family of the Tear" The Ccntervillc Jaycees announced that the Craig Madson family of Centerville was selected as "Family of the Year" 1986-87. The criteria for the award was based on the family's contributions to their community. The Madson family has been very active in their local Jaycee chapter and through that organization has brought to their city the July 4th carnival, salmon sal-mon supper and run, baseball card swap meet, babysitting clinic, sub-for-Santa, Junior Miss Pageant, Shooter's education and Easter Egg Hunt. They have also worked on many projects in other cities. This year Craig served the Jaycees as a district dis-trict director supervising the North Salt Lake, Bountiful, Centerville, Kaysville and Layton Jaycee chapters. chap-ters. The Madsons are also active in their community outside of their Jaycee affiliation. Craig is the president pres-ident of the Franchise Division of the Utah State Bar Association and is a member of the National Arbitration Arbit-ration Association. Karen has assisted in the Centerville Center-ville Recreation Program and has also been a coach. She has served as Reading Elementary Legislative Vice President in the PTA. She is active in her church serving in various va-rious positions in Relief Society and Young Women's both in her ward and on a stake level. Craig and Karen have been involved in-volved in raisingmoney for Muscular Muscu-lar Dystrophy, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society and the March of Dimes. The Madsons will go to the national na-tional competition in Reno, Nev. in June. This family truly believes the last line of the Jaycee Creed, "that service to humanity is the best work of life." |
