Show AARP hears how to grow young The South Davis County Chapter Chap-ter of American Association of Retired Re-tired Persons met at the Golden Years Center on May 18. Walter Willey president, welcomed those attending. Vernon Jones gave the invocation invoca-tion and Aurelia Olsen led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Dorothy Willey, secretary, read the minutes from the April meeting. ; Joyce Smith presented the program prog-ram on "Growing Younger." She spoke on the healthy key habits for the senior citizens and mentioned ! seven important habits which we should cultivate as we grow older. Eat three nutritious meals daily and drink plenty of water, exercise faithfully each day, have plenty of sleep each night, do not smoke, use alcohol in moderation and keep a moderate weight. Every senior citizen should call or write their legislators or senators sena-tors on every issue that affects the elderly, let them know how you feel on items they are discussing and pertaining to the elderly. The AARP will meet June 15 in the Golden Years Center at 12:30 p.m. Howard Stringham will present pre-sent the program "The Eyes Have It." The National Association of Federal Employees Bountiful j Chapter, celebrated their 25th anniversary May 13-15 with special events. Many members of the organization orga-nization attended the sessions, which were held in Ogden. |
