Show Stewart gets doctorate Penee Wood Stewart, daughter of Val and Beverly Wood of Bountiful, Boun-tiful, recently earned her doctorate in Instructional Science from Brigham Young University. For her dissertation she taught children between the ages of two and four to read and then examined the learning process of these children. chil-dren. The dissertation was titled "The Miscues of Preschool Readers: Read-ers: Learning from Their Mistakes." Mis-takes." Penee was a 1971 graduate of Viewmont High School. She received re-ceived a bachelor's degree in psychology from BYU in 1976. While at BYU she participated in the Honors Society, received a Presidential Scholarship and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi. She has co-authored one textbook, "Teaching Language Arts." Penee is married to James William Wil-liam Stewart Jr. and is the mother of two sons and one daughter. Recently Re-cently she began tutoring children in reading. Penee is a resident of Farmington. |
