Show Parents: Stumped.5 Help's available "My Son is having trouble in school." "My daughter doesn't seem to be learning to read." "My child can't learn math facts." "What can I do?" "How can I help?" These and many other concerns con-cerns about helping children with school work are voiced daily by parents. Most parent's dilema is that while they want to help their children do well in school, they often don't know how to do it. Precision teaching - a Tool for Parents is a workshop designed to provide parents with techniques to help their children succeed academically. acade-mically. During this workshop parents pa-rents will learn how to help children chil-dren develop productive home and school study habits. Parents will also learn systems for charting their child's progress. Precision Teaching - A Tool for Parents will be presented by the Davis School District Parent Education Edu-cation Resource Center at the Monte Vista Center, 70 S. 200 E., Farmington. This is a three session workshop which begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24. The fee is $12. Pre-registration is suggested to insure a place. This can be done either by visiting the Center or by calling 451-5071. Mary Memmott, instructor for the workshop, is a first grade teacher at Reading Elementary. She has used Precision Teaching techniques successfully in the classroom clas-sroom and has recently trailed many parents to use these techniques techni-ques effectively with their children. chil-dren.
