Show TOP FINISHERS IN Boulton Elementary's "Fun Run" were: Brandon Hillips I left, 4th place; Elsie Chambers, 3rd place; Gaylon Schetterslaar, 2nd place and j Brian Raines, 1st, all 3rd graders; winning 4th graders were: Mark Chamberlain, ' 3rd place; Steve Szukala, coming in' 2nd and Jeff Blackburn, 1st place; fastest 5th graders are: Cameron Edan, 3rd place; Peter McConkie, 2nd and Matthew Garff, 1st place; speedy 6th graders were: James Coombs, 3rd; Eric Anderson, 2nd and Justin Kirkham, 1st place. - NEARLY 100 MEMBERS of Boulton Elementary School's student body ran their legs off in the recent three mile Fun Run. Supervised by 6th grade teacher Vernon Ver-non Holzer, students qualified after walking or running 50 miles to prepare within four months before the race. Boulton students run! By ANDREA CLARK Get ready, get set, go! They're off! Ninety-three students from Boulton Elementary are out for their three-mile fun run. Some tall, some short, some fat, some thin, some fast, some slow, but all were out for the big competition supervised super-vised by Vernon Holzer, a sixth grade teacher. All of these students had to qualify qual-ify to run. They each had to run or walk 50 miles in the four months time given. This special fun run was held on May 14 starting at Boulton school from there up to Davis Blvd., across to 1800 South and back. The first, second and third place medals were awarded to: Sixth grade, Justin Kirkham, 1st; Eric Andec.nt ,2nd; Jamie Coombs, 3rd. Fifth grade, Matthew Matth-ew Garff, 1st; Peter McConkie, 2nd; Cameron Egan, 3rd. Fourth grade, Jeff Blackburn, 1st; Steve Szukala, 2nd; Mark Chamberlain 3rd. Third grade, Brian Raines, 1st; Gaylen Scheteslaar, 2nd; Elise Chambers, 3rd; Brandon Phillips, 4th. Justin Kirkham's winning time was 18:01. |
