Show Sign name, please Reference letter to the Editor of Wednesday, May 7, 1986 j pertaining to the character assassination of Pete Steiner written by name withheld by request. I First, I must make it clear that I do not know Pete Steiner and I have no connection with the track meet that you mentioned in I your charges. j As I read your letter my mind was thinking that perhaps you I had a legitimate complaint and 1 could see where a person could be a little upset over the way things turned out. But, when I got to the bottom and looked for your name, I got furious! For you see, in my book a person that makes charges like the one's you ; made and then lacks the courage to sign their name to it is j nothing more than a low life back stabber. (In the old days they 1 called them back shooters. A person who lacked the guts to face up to his enemies and instead lay in ambush and shoot them in the back). You degrade Peter Steiner, but at least he had the courage to make a decision and stick with it and I bet he didn't wear a sack over his head so no one would know who he was. Now back to you. ; A person who makes any statement and then lacks the moral ! courage to put their name to it makes it unworthy of my time to read it and totally destroys any credibility that statement might have had. My advice to you is in the future is to start signing your name, and being responsible for your statements. If this is too much to expect of you, then please crawl back under the slimy rock you obviously live under and quit wasting my time and countless other's reading your unsigned letters.
