Show Opera season opens SALT LAKE CITY Superti-tles Superti-tles and superstars--two key ele-, ele-, ments responsible for the success of the Utah Opera's current seasonwill sea-sonwill make return engagements in 1986-87. Aptly entitled, "A Starlit Star-lit Season." the company's 86-87 season offers a star-studded cast in three operatic favorites. Opening the season on Oct. 9, 11, 13 and 15 will be Puccini's final opera, "Turandot." Salt Lake native na-tive Linda Kelm, noted as the American Turandot of today, will sing the title role in this brilliant story of exoticism, mysticism and fantasy; and Giorgio Tozzi, of Metropolitan Met-ropolitan Opera fame, will sing the bass role of Timur. January brings the rollicking comedy, "The Barber of Seville," with performances on January 22, 24, 26 and 28. Colombian mezzo-soprano mezzo-soprano Marta Senn will return to the Utah Opera after a stunning performance last October as Carmen, Car-men, to sing Rosina; and Giorgio Tozzi will sing Dr. Basilio. And closing out the season with a flourish, Metropolitan Opera's Roberta Peters will delight Utah Opera audiences with her remarkable remark-able portrayal of the courtesan, Violetta, in Verdi'a great love story, "La Traviata." Tenor Rico Serbo, last seen here as Lt. Pinker-ton, Pinker-ton, will return to the Capitol Theatre stage, this time as Violet-ta's Violet-ta's sincere and innocent lover, Alfredo. Performances will be May 7, 9, II and 14, with an added matinee on Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m. All performances will be sung in Italian, and accompanied by English En-glish Supertitles.
