Show Cat Chat: WX is good! By CHERYL COX It pains me to inform you of a certain ailing problem in our own Davis county. There are more than just remote, isolated cases. We are ncaring an epidemic! This is not a physical illness, it is a mental one. In some ways that makes the remedy re-medy easier, but in many ways it becomes much harder, because people, being what they are. are often too stubborn and unwilling to change the way they think. Here's the problem: There seems to be a widespread misconception miscon-ception about the students and teachers at Woods Cross High, but these "rumors" and tall tales just are not true. Our school has accomplished many great things in the few years it has been here. Look at our jazz and marching bands, our soccer teams, our girls' basketball, our drama department, our Sterling Scholars, our swim teams. 1 could go on. but I think you get the basic jist of things. These Wildcats didn't get where they are by luck, kind referees, easy judges or fate. They worked hard, they worked together, they are dedicated, they have smart coaches and teachers, they have talent and they have spirit. It's not just our winners that we are proud of. we're proud of all our Wildcats that work hard and try. We had our "Traditions of Ex cellence" night on Monday. It gave us a chance to brag a little on our school's accomplishments. We have come a long way and we are proud of it. We may have our problems, here at Woods Cross H igh . but show me a school with none. Ours are no worse than any other school in the area no matter what may be said. We like to think our school is the best, like every school does. Maybe we are, maybe we aren't, but who is to judge? I know that I speak for many when I say that 1 am proud and honored to go to Woods Cross High. I think our school is the best ! I think we have a lot to be proud of, so give us a chance. |
