Show Aii Open Letter to the City , and County Street Departments GENTLEMEN: Before you decide to open any new roads we suggest sug-gest that'you put your men and equipment to work repairing the heavily traveled 20th East Country Club road so that drivers aren't choked and blinded with dust as they traverse the ravine. That job, we believe, belongs to the city street deparment. Many of the same drivers, who like to continue traveling north on 21st Easta are soundly jolted as they attempt to cross 21st South Street. Two huge hollows on each side of 21st South at 21st East succeed in wrenching the frame of every car. That, too, belongs to the city street department. 1 Still farther north on 21st East about 15th South drivers are treated to two blocks of ruts, holes, dust and broken paving. This section we believe comes under the j county's jurisdiction. Now, gentlemen, if any of you have been along the route -we've been talking about, you well know that numerous cars travel along it all during the day and night. Hundreds of families living in both the city and county depend upon that route for their daily travels. They would like to see new access roads opened up, like 23rd East and 17th East, but for the present, they would appreciate some rapid repairs on the 20th-21st East route. Sincerely, THE BULLETIN |
