Show East Mill Creek T'was good to see Mr. and Mm. Rid Bird again, who arrived in Salt Lake Wednesday, May 5, from their home in Rio de Janeiro. Ja-neiro. They have been in the United States about three weeks. Mr. Bird is the vice consul at the' American Embassy at Rio de Janeiro. Upon their return to South America, Mr. Bird will accept a new position. Their five-year-old daughter, Diane, accompanied them on their trip to the U. S. The Commercial contest sponsored spon-sored by the Henegar's Business College for schools in the inter-mountain inter-mountain west was staged April 30. The first-year shorthand di vision was entered by Miss Mar. tha. Sue Chamberlin who walked away with top honors. Zion is growing by leaps and bounds, and the names given to the four children who were blessed last Sunday are as follows; fol-lows; The son of Mr! and Mrs. G. W. Barker was given the name of William Scott; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. laVarr Fagg received the name of Gayle; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence W. Robinson was christened Wanda Jo; while the son of Mr. and Mrs. De Mann was named Flin Adrian. Arriving home on Monday will be Miss Barbara Fisher, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Lestei Fisher. Barbara has spent the past four months in Mexico where she has been teaching school. Linda and Brock Place are anxiously awaiting the arrival home of their mother and baby sister. Their sister was born last Saturday, May 7. The. parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Place 2564 Evergreen. |
