Show "The Things That Make People Different Aren't as Important . . ." What We Do Here in Utah in the Libbie Edward School Our fourth grade wanted to learn more about other countries coun-tries and about the children In other lands. We have made a map of the world. We put a small map under un-der an enlarger. Then we copied the map on a large piece of paper. pa-per. Our map is 72 inches wide and 125 inches long. We have drawn lines on the map from the United States to the other countries The lines are different colors and have numbers on them. These travel lines tell us how to get to a country and back again. Each country has a ticket holder and tickets. The tickets are the same color as our travel lines. These tickets take us different places. When you answer one question you go to station one on the map. If you answer all the questions you get to go to the country. Of course we only imagine we go. We didn't think we had enough people answering questions ques-tions and traveling on our map, so we put up pictures and advertisement ad-vertisement signs. Our class is divided into groups. Each group has a country to study. After we study a while we feel we don't only want to know about the country we chose but about the other countries the other groups chose.' We have plays, books, pictures, pic-tures, puppet plays and group reports to tell the class what we have learned. We do all this because we think making friends will end war. We would like to be friends with these people. To remind us each day we have a slogan that says, "The things that make people different aren't as important as the things that make people alike." it is interesting inter-esting to study our new neighbors. neigh-bors.
