Chamber Predicts Fund Drive Success Planning to have all of the 815.000 fund drive solicitations completed by Wednesday the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce Com-merce finance committee reported re-ported that the results of the drive thus far have been "very gratifying." Mr. I.ee Oalebout. committee head explained that the majority of the businessmen already visited by committee members have fully subscribed to the allotted assessments. "This." said Mr. Dalebout. "is because the program is so well deserved of our support. The year 'round projects which have been outlined by the chamber, if they are carried out with the cooperation of the people and businessmen of this area, will undoubtedly bring a period of increased prosperity to Sugar House. That is why our program pro-gram is meeting with such success." suc-cess." The Sugar House business district dis-trict has been divided up into four divisios for solicitation purposes. The committee members, mem-bers, including Mr. Dalebout, have each taken a section. Ron Hendricks, Walter Peterson and Russell Shurtleff. the other members, are canvassing then-sections then-sections with one or two other Chamber of Commerce members who have been selected to assist, in the drive. The various business firms in Sugar House have been assessed certain amounts of money, in accordance ac-cordance with their ability to pay, to raise funds for a continuing con-tinuing program of outstanding acitvities in this area. Tenta-! Tenta-! tively these projects have been ' divided into six main programs: j 1. Combined spring festival : and founder's day celebration. 1 2. Imposing July rites to commemorate com-memorate the entrance of the Pioneers into the valley. ; 3. Publicity for the fact that Sugar House is the gateway to Utah's winter wonderland. 4. Establishment of a fall festival fes-tival which will come to be ah annual event and will dramatize Sugar House and the ha.rvest season. 5. An intensive advertising campaign designed to bring the buying public to Sugar House for all occasions. G. Christmas lighting and decorating dec-orating program. Committee members, themselves them-selves rushed with their private business affairs, have asked for the continued cooperation and support of local businessmen when they make their solicitations. solicita-tions.
