Show lapoint Mrs. Mable Jenkins Party Honors New U. S. Service Man A surprise party for Lyle , Taylor was held recently at his home on Deep Creek, prior to his leaving for military service. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Huber, Mr. and Mrs. Dar-rell Dar-rell Huber, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Huber, M.r. . and Mrs. Chuck Taylor and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Nielson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Trave Neilson and family fam-ily and Mr. and Mrs. LaMont Neilson and family: Weiners were roasted and watermelon wa-termelon served. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Kump and children, Roma, Carolyn, Lola and Dick, of Rupert, Idaho, have been visiting Mr. Kump's sister, Lizie Nielson, and family, fam-ily, a brother, Jack Kump, and family, and a half sister, Mrs. Barbara Nyberg, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Perry and family. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Perry and family, of Dragerton, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Perry. The occasion celebrated the latter's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Elmer and sons, of Salt Lake City, visited vis-ited Mrs. Elmer's mother, Mrs. May Sprouse, and other relatives rela-tives over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hartle and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pope, of California, have returned home after a visit here with their children. chil-dren. Annie Jackson and Alice Jenkins Jen-kins returned home Saturday after a business trip to Ogden.. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Trujillo and children, of Ogden, are visiting vis-iting Mrs. Trujillo's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Rasmussen. Mrs. Golden Collins, of Ballard, Bal-lard, and Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Marks and family, of Los Angeles, Angel-es, California, spent July 24 with Mrs. Barbara Nyberg. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Nielson are the parents of a . baby girl born July 27 at' the Roosevelt hospital. Mrs. Sarah Norton went to Roosevelt during the week to visit her brother, ' David I. Wilson, Wil-son, who is seriously ill. Mrs. Leland Perry returned home Sunday from the Roosevelt Roos-evelt hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Justice, Jus-tice, of Salt Lake City, came to get their children, who have spent some time with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ol-lie Ol-lie Justice. Ollie Ray returned with them. Doyal Huber is in the Vernal hospital with pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. Donnel Rasmus-sen Rasmus-sen and children, of Ogden, are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rulen Rasmussen and family. fam-ily. The girls baseball team went to Vernal Friday evening to play Maeser ward. The score was 12-8 in favor of Lapoint. i Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Swain and children, of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, were visitors recently of Mr. and Mrs. Sike Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Swain. Mrs. Gertie Britt, of Tacoma, Washington, and Mrs. Emmaline Varley and daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Ev-elyn Cross, of Salt Lake City, visited Monday with their aunt, Mrs. Margaret Harrison. A farewell party was given in the chapel for Lyle Taylor, Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Orville and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mowrey attended the Swain reunion held July 24 in Vernal Ver-nal at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Jim Schaefermeyer, C. T. Thurston, of Ogden, spent the past week with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr-and Mr-and Mrs. Ray Lee. Mrs. Carl Hedengren and children, chil-dren, of Vancouver, Washington, visited recently with Mr, and Mrs. Ray Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hansen and children, of Salt Lake City, visited Mrs. Dorothy Thompson and other relatives during the week. , Shirley Kay Rich returned recently from San Diego, where she had been visiting with her husband, Lawrence Rich. Vella Rasmussen , and Mynna Taylor have returned from Plain City, where they went to pick fruit for Otto Bisel, a former Lapoint resident. Shirl Kump, of North Dakota, spent a few hours recently with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Ad-rian Kump. He is working in the oil field. . Mrs. Margaret Harrison spent a few days during the week at Bennett with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Horrocks. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Horrocks Hor-rocks visited Thursday with Bishop and Mrs. Otis Horrocks, of Bennett. Chuck Taylor and his family have moved to Deep Creek to stay with Lyle's wife while he is in service. |
